Sri Lanka School of Agriculture - Wariyapola

Sri Lanka School of Agriculture, Wariyapola is a main government organization located in North Western province, responsible for providing Agriculture education for the youth.  It produces middle level human resources required for the agriculture sector of the country with the National Diploma in Agriculture Production Technology course (NVQ Level5) and the Plant Nursery Development Assistant Course (NVQ Level 4).

Objectives

  • Produce diploma holders annually for National diploma in Agriculture Production Technology (NVQ level 5) course.
  • Produce technical sound students human resource for Field Nursery Development Assistant Course(NVQ 4) and Bee development training programme.

Activities

  • Conducting academic programs for the students in National diploma in Agriculture Production Technology (NVQ level 5) and Plant Nursery Development Assistant (NVQ Level 4) Courses.
  • Organizing field visits for required subjects in relevant organizations.
  • Evaluating students by conducting continuous assessments
  • Evaluating students by conducting semester end exams
  • Conducting extracurricular and personality development programmes
  • Maintaining school farm as a demonstration field
  • Conducting Bee development training programmes.

Services

  • Provide awareness of job opportunities for Diploma holders
  • Provision of knowledge in Agriculture to School children when request
  • Engage in field problem solutions of farmers when required
  • Provide Bee keeping Training and extension activities to relevant officers, students and farmers.
