Agro-enterprises Training – 2025
The Department of Agriculture has organized a series of one-day and two-day awareness and skill development programmes aimed at individuals who are interested in starting agro-enterprises or enhancing their existing agribusinesses. These programmes cover both theoretical and practical aspects essential for launching and managing economically viable agro-enterprises.
Mode of Delivery & Selection
All courses are conducted in the Sinhala medium. Individuals may enroll in multiple courses if they wish. The dates of each course will be communicated in writing to registered applicants at least two weeks prior to commencement. Each training session will accommodate a group of 30 participants, selected on a first-come, first-served basis according to the order in which applications are received.
Course Registration Instructions
To register for a course, applicants must deposit a registration fee of Rs. 200.00 to the following bank account at any branch of People’s Bank:

After making the payment, please send the payment slip along with the completed application form. (Please note that cheques and money orders will not be accepted)
Kindly note that if you are unable to attend the training on the assigned date, you will not be recalled for future sessions, and the registration fee is non-refundable.
Charges for Course Fee, Foods & Lodging
The course fee will be collected on the first day of the training program. If participants require meals and accommodation, these services can be obtained by making the necessary payment to the respective institution on the day of participation.
The applicable rates for these services are listed below. (Please note that these rates are subject to revision.)
- Charge for accommodation per head / day – Rs. 1000.00
- Charge for food per head / day – Rs. 1750.00
