We Are
Engineering Division of the Department of Agriculture (DOA) will integrate the Farm Mechanization Research Centre (FMRC) and all engineering resources under a unified structure led by a Director (Engineering). It will oversee agricultural mechanization, infrastructure development, and engineering services, ensuring efficient resource utilization and enhanced collaboration. With specialized units for research, maintenance, and regional support, the division will drive innovation, improve productivity, and support sustainable farming practices. Aligning with DOA’s objectives, this restructuring will streamline operations, reduce redundancies, and provide comprehensive engineering solutions, strengthening Sri Lanka’s agricultural sector for long-term growth and food security.
Mission

Through collaboration, innovation, and resource optimization, we aim to enhance productivity, sustainability, and resilience in Sri Lankan agriculture while ensuring efficient service delivery to all stakeholders.
