The 25th Annual symposium of the Department of Agriculture was held on 22.09.2023 at Gannoruwa, Plant Genetic Resource Centre, National Agriculture Information and Communication Centre and the In-Service Training Centre premises with the participation of the Minister of Agriculture Mahinda Amaraweera.

Presentations were made in the technical session about the services provided by the various institutes and new research findings of Department of Agriculture and the Key note speech was delivered by Dr. Gayatri Acharya.

Dr. W.A.R.T. Mr. Wickramarachchi was awarded as the best Scientist of the year while Mr. S. Satheeswaran awarded as the best agriculturalist of the year and Mr K.M.D.W.P. Nishantha, won the award. For best poster presentation. Award for the best research paper goes to the team of Dr A.G. Chandrapala, K.M.A. Kedaragamage, S.K. Vettasinghe and C. Dissanayake

Mr.  W.A. Wijithavarna.  Mr. K.G. Somacandra, Mr. I.G.K. Janaka, Mr.  H.M.J.K. Herath and Mr. S. Selvakumara, Mr.M.F.  Sanir were awarded by Special Awards of Director General of Agriculture for services rendered for the  Agriculture sector of Sri Lanka.
