Investigation of Si supplements on grain discoloration disease

Grain discoloration is a complex which caused by several reasons. However, it is mostly occurred due to number of fungi related to rice diseases. Supply of soluble silicon in plants provides stronger, tougher cell walls which serve as a mechanical barrier at the infection site thus inhibiting the penetration of cell walls by the attacking fungus.
