Rice Research Station - Bentota

Rice Research Station Bentota is located in WL2 agro ecological zone and it is one of the satellite station under the purview of Rice Research and Development Institute, Batalagoda.

Mandate is to Identifying the adaptive rice varieties and associated technologies for the flood prone and saline rice ecosystem.

  • Technology dissemination on paddy cultivation.
  • Giving remedial measures to field issues.
  • Provision of seed paddy
  • Technology dissemination on Sorjan cultivation system and conducting soil testing to identify suitable lands for establishment of Sorjan cultivation system
