Screening of rice breedinglines/ varieties (Progeny, PYT,MYT, CRVT, VAT, INGER lines) for brown planthopper(BPH) and rice gall midge(RGM)

BPH and RGM are considered as the most devastating pests of rice in the country. Therefore, it is very important to strengthen the rice varietal improvement through finding new sources for pest resistance and to help minimize biotype development. With that objective Entomology Division continued its efforts to screen all the rice breeding lines under greenhouse condition for BPH and field screening for RGM.
