The combination of the techniques of prevention, eradication and control to manage the weeds in a cropping system

Objective
To use all available knowledge and tools to produce crops which are free from economically damaging competitive vegetation.
 
Applied both for preventive and curative purposes.
  • Weed control in a crop should be applied when weeds impose a deleterious competition on rice crop.
  • The most critical period for competition is from
    • 2 weeks after sowing and
    • persist up to 5-8 weeks.
