We Are
Implementation of all assignments related to Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering design, construction, repair, maintenance and procurement of goods and services is the prime responsibility of this institute. In doing so, engineering division contributes 90% of the work related to capital expenditure of this department
Mission
Timely intervention to provide and maintain infra-structure facilities and Engineering technology for smooth functioning of agricultural development activities.
The proposed Engineering Division of the Department of Agriculture (DOA) will integrate the Farm Mechanization Research Centre (FMRC) and all engineering resources under a unified structure led by a Director (Engineering). It will oversee agricultural mechanization, infrastructure development, and engineering services, ensuring efficient resource utilization and enhanced collaboration. With specialized units for research, maintenance, and regional support, the division will drive innovation, improve productivity, and support sustainable farming practices. Aligning with DOA’s objectives, this restructuring will streamline operations, reduce redundancies, and provide comprehensive engineering solutions, strengthening Sri Lanka’s agricultural sector for long-term growth and food security.
