The technology release committee (TRC) was formed in 2008 as an idea came up at the seasonal conference of Provincial Directors with the view of releasing new technologies other than varieties developed by the DOA to public following a systematic procedure similar to adapted in release of new varieties. The operation of this committee is some what similar to that of the VRC. The scientist who wishes to submit / release a technology forwards the technology using the standard format prepared for this purpose to the TRC. The committee evaluates the technology and informs the scientist to make a presentation on the technology at the technology release committee meeting held with the participation of Directors, Deputy Directors Provincial Directors, other scientists and extension staff of the DOA. The TRC decides technology to be released based on the comments of TRC members as well as participants.
